Terms of engagement and booking

Version: 21 October 2026. Applies to new contracts where this version has been provided and agreed. Existing contracts are not automatically amended.

These terms describe what applies when you book online advice or engage Arbetsrättsjuridik for a larger assignment. The contracting party is Arbetsrättsjuridik, based in Jönköping. Contact: info@arbetsrattsjuridik.se.

Your booking confirmation or individual engagement confirmation specifies the agreed service and price. A specific agreement takes precedence over these terms but may not restrict mandatory consumer rights. A consumer is an individual acting mainly outside their trade or business.

Key provisions of the general terms of engagement

1. When does an assignment arise?

An enquiry through a form or email does not mean that an assignment has been accepted. Initial contact clarifies the support you are seeking and does not include free legal analysis or assessment.

For online bookings, a contract for the selected advisory meeting is concluded when the booking has been completed through the booking process and confirmed. The obligation to pay must be clear before ordering. A larger assignment starts only after a separate agreement on scope and fees. The terms must be available before the contract is concluded, and the contractual information must be confirmed in a form you can retain.

Before accepting an assignment, we may need to check identity, authority and potential conflicts of interest. If we cannot provide a meeting already paid for, payment for the undeliverable service will be refunded.

2. Online advisory meetings

Meetings take place through Google Meet. Choose 15 minutes for SEK 375, 30 minutes for SEK 750 or 60 minutes for SEK 1,500. Prices are in Swedish kronor and include VAT. The price shown and agreed at booking applies to the meeting.

Advice is based on your question, available information and the booked time. Extensive document review, written legal analysis, negotiations, contact with the opposing party and court work are included only if separately agreed. Further work and any additional meeting time require a new agreement on cost.

You need a working internet connection and a device capable of using Google Meet. Check the meeting link in your booking confirmation. Contact us if the link is missing or a technical problem occurs. If a problem is on our side, a new time or a refund for the part not performed will be offered.

3. Rescheduling, cancellation and missed meetings

Notify us of changes as early as possible through the links in your booking confirmation or info@arbetsrattsjuridik.se. State your name, booked time and the meeting concerned.

Any specific deadlines or fees for late cancellation or non-attendance must have been clearly stated before booking and agreed. If no such fee has been agreed, no standard cancellation charge applies. Charges for work already agreed and performed may be payable under the law and contract.

A prepaid booking is reconciled against the amount we are entitled to under the contract and applicable law. The remainder is refunded. Statutory withdrawal rights apply independently of any cancellation rule.

4. Consumer withdrawal rights for distance contracts

As a consumer, you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract for legal advice within 14 days of concluding the contract. The withdrawal period does not begin until the prescribed information about withdrawal rights has been provided. If that information is missing, the period may be extended under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act.

Exercise your right by sending a clear notice to info@arbetsrattsjuridik.se. State your name and the contract or booking you wish to withdraw from. No reason is required. You may use the Swedish Consumer Agency's standard withdrawal form, but this is optional. A notice sent in time by an appropriate method is sufficient.

If advice is to begin within 14 days

You must expressly request that work begins during the withdrawal period. If you then withdraw before the service is complete, you may have to pay a reasonable, proportionate part of the agreed price for work already performed, provided the statutory requirements for the request and advance information are met.

The right of withdrawal ends when the service has been fully performed only if you expressly consented to performance starting and acknowledged that the withdrawal right would then end. Merely reading the terms or paying is not sufficient express consent. These rules also apply to a meeting booked for a specific time.

Refunds after withdrawal

Refunds must be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving your withdrawal notice. The same payment method is used unless you expressly accept another method at no extra cost. Any deduction for a partially performed service may only be made under the rules above.

5. Legal assistance and representation

Advice provides legal assessments and guidance. Legal representation requires a specifically commissioned assignment, for example to represent you in negotiations or court, draft pleadings or contact the opposing party. An advisory meeting does not itself mean that a representation assignment has been accepted. A power of attorney and an engagement agreement serve different functions; a power of attorney does not replace an agreement on work and fees.

Document review, legal analysis, negotiations and litigation work are commissioned through an individual quote or engagement confirmation. This specifies the objective, scope, hourly rate or fixed fee, any cost limit and payment terms. An estimate is not a fixed fee unless expressly agreed. We consult you before expanding the assignment or changing an agreed cost limit.

The assignment covers only expressly commissioned measures and the agreed stage or court level. Appeals, enforcement and new disputes are not automatically included. The client decides on settlement or withdrawal after consultation; we do not guarantee that the opposing party will accept a proposal.

Advice concerns Swedish law unless expressly agreed otherwise. Assessments are based on available information and the legal position at the time of advice. Ongoing updates after completion are included only if agreed.

6. Prices, expenses and changes

Consumer prices include VAT. Business prices may exclude VAT where this is clearly stated. The individually agreed price applies. A change to the standard hourly rate does not automatically change an agreed fixed fee or cost limit; price changes for further work must be notified and agreed in advance.

Reasonable expenses, such as filing fees or external experts, may be added under the agreement. Expected additional costs and their basis must be clear before ordering. Significant expenses are discussed with you before they arise.

7. Payment and advances

Online advisory meetings are paid through Stripe in Swedish kronor. Card payments and any Klarna options are shown in the payment process. Klarna determines available credit or instalment options under its terms. Swish and invoices through Fortnox Finans may be used separately by agreement.

Representation requires an advance payment as stated in the engagement confirmation. Before court proceedings, including a main hearing, the requested advance must always be paid beforehand. The advance may cover preparation, hearing time and expected expenses. The amount and payment deadline are notified in writing. Interim and final invoices may be issued during the assignment.

Invoices are payable within seven days unless otherwise stated or agreed. Advances are offset against work performed and agreed costs; any surplus is refunded once the assignment is completed and reconciled.

Additional advances and reconciliation

An advance is not a fixed fee or cap on the total cost unless expressly agreed. When it is close to being used up, we may request an additional advance for further work and set a reasonable payment deadline. Work is accounted for and advances are reconciled without double charging. An instalment arrangement directly with Arbetsrättsjuridik requires a separate written agreement.

Late payment may result in default interest and legally permitted charges where the conditions are met. A reminder fee is charged only where supported by the contract. Unpaid claims may be pursued through debt collection, the Swedish Enforcement Authority or court. Send invoice objections to info@arbetsrattsjuridik.se, stating the disputed part and reasons. Disputing part of an invoice does not remove the obligation to pay an undisputed amount that is due. This does not restrict a consumer's legal right to withhold payment.

8. Documents, instructions and deadlines

You must provide accurate and relevant information in time, identify important dates and tell us about changes. Read drafts and point out factual errors. We remain responsible for the legal work included in the assignment.

Sending an enquiry, booking a meeting or providing documents does not itself mean that we undertake to monitor deadlines, notify an employer or take procedural steps. Such responsibility must fall within the accepted assignment. Tell us immediately if a deadline is approaching.

9. Confidentiality and personal data

Information about your matter is handled confidentially. Relevant information may be shared with recipients needed for the assignment, under your instructions or where required by law. Data needed for a legal claim of our own may be processed on a basis permitted by applicable rules.

Carmen Elfgren is the controller for the practice's processing. The privacy policy describes purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention and your rights. Avoid sensitive data in the initial website form; agree on an appropriate transfer method before sending sensitive documents.

10. Work products and other advisers

You may use documents and advice for the agreed purpose, including necessary sharing with a court, opposing party or other advisers in the matter. Copyright in protected material remains with the rights holder. Advice is tailored to your assignment and should not be treated as advice for other matters or third parties.

If an external adviser or expert is needed, the assignment and cost are discussed with you. Responsibilities must be clarified; using an external provider does not relieve Arbetsrättsjuridik of liability for its own negligent actions.

11. Outcomes, cost risks and liability

We perform assignments with care but cannot guarantee a particular outcome, settlement or payment from the opposing party. Your obligation to pay for agreed work applies regardless of the dispute's outcome, subject to your rights where services are defective. Legal expenses insurance and recovery from the opposing party require separate assessment. Court proceedings may involve liability for the opposing party's litigation costs under applicable rules.

For consumers, liability is assessed under applicable law. These terms do not limit statutory consumer rights.

For business clients, liability is limited to proven direct loss and, in total, the fees paid for the assignment concerned, unless otherwise agreed. This limitation does not apply to intentional conduct, gross negligence, where contrary to mandatory law or where otherwise unenforceable. It also does not limit liability under the GDPR.

12. Ending the assignment

You may end an ongoing assignment at any time. Charges for agreed work performed and costs incurred are then reconciled, taking account of withdrawal rights and applicable law.

If an agreed advance or due invoice is unpaid, further work may be paused or the assignment terminated after notifying the client. This must take account of the stage reached, known deadlines and procedural duties; a power of attorney or court proceedings may require specific steps before withdrawal takes effect.

We may need to withdraw because of a conflict of interest, non-payment, insufficient documents or instructions that cannot be followed. We must inform you within a reasonable time and, as far as circumstances permit, allow you to arrange other assistance and identify known urgent measures. Withdrawal does not remove responsibility for work already performed.

13. Complaints and disputes

If dissatisfied, contact info@arbetsrattsjuridik.se and describe what went wrong and the remedy you seek. Please contact us promptly so the issue can be addressed. Applicable statutory rules on complaints and limitation periods apply.

A consumer may refer a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) where its admissibility requirements are met. Information is available at www.arn.se. Disputes may also be heard by the competent ordinary court under applicable jurisdiction rules. Consumers retain the right to have a dispute heard by the court provided for under applicable consumer protection and jurisdiction rules. Swedish law applies with respect for mandatory consumer protection rules.
